Checkup and Clean

Gum disease is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions, according to a recent study. With research in recent times proving that gum disease is an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease and other systemic conditions, the importance of having healthy gums can’t be stressed enough. Gum disease is often painless and is very prevalent affecting many people. Some might seek treatment because of bad breath caused by gum disease, but the consequences of not diagnosing and treating at the early stages can be devastating, often leading to the loss of a tooth or multiple teeth.

Getting regular cleans done by the dentist helps to keep your gums and teeth healthy. We use ultrasonic scalers to gently remove the tartar build up and polish your teeth. If you are nervous or if you feel that your gums are not in good shape, let us know. We will take all measures to make it as comfortable as possible for you. If needed, at times we recommend getting a thorough deep clean done after numbing your gums.

We often offer to do a fluoride treatment after a clean to help make your teeth more resistant to cavities. If you do get one done, please make sure you don’t eat or drink for at least half an hour.

Medicare Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS)

The Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) was introduced by the government to improve children’s dental health by providing funds to cover essential dental services for eligible children aged between two and seventeen years old. The fund covers the cost of essential preventative and restorative treatments up to a value of $1,026 over a two consecutive year period. If your child has Medicare and if you are receiving a government payment like the Family Tax Benefit Part A, then he/she might be eligible for treatment under this scheme. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact us and we can check it for you.
