Fissure Sealants
Fissure sealants are simply a very thin layer of flowable resin that is painted onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth and is set hard with a special light. These teeth have lots of fissures and grooves that are frequently too deep to be cleaned with a toothbrush and are prone towards tooth decay. By sealing these tooth surfaces, we can help keep them strong and healthy and cavity-free. Treatment is affordable, quick and painless.
We generally suggest using fissure sealants soon after your child’s adult teeth emerge, while they are still healthy and cavity-free.
